Chequers talks and a scout group

After staying overnight in Windsor Castle, US President Donald Trump bid farewell to the King and Queen.
“He’s a great gentleman and a great King,” the US president told the waiting media.

Queen Camilla, King Charles, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump posed for a final group picture on the final day of the state visit.
Unlike Wednesday, neither the Queen nor the first lady wore exuberant hats.

The first lady had a final round of engagements in Windsor, including a visit to the Royal Library and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House with the Queen.
The dolls’ house was built between 1921 and 1924 for Queen Mary and designed by the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

President Trump then headed to Chequers to meet Sir Keir Starmer, making the short journey from Windsor Castle by the Marine One helicopter.
A car entourage was ready to greet the president and take him to the prime minister’s country house.

Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Lady Victoria Starmer gave President Trump a warm welcome, showing him around the residence ahead of their bilateral meeting.
Inside Chequers, the US President viewed the Sir Winston Churchill archives alongside the UK Prime Minister, before engaging in bilateral talks.

Later, Starmer and Trump attended a business reception hosted by the UK Chancellor.
They signed a new technology partnership, which Starmer said would see billions flowing “both ways of the Atlantic”.
A joint news conference took place that afternoon, prior to the President and First Lady’s departure for the US.

The President and first lady were honoured with a spectacular aerial display by the British Army’s Red Devils to commemorate their historic state visit.

The president and PM held a joint news conference before taking questions from journalists on a variety of issues, including the war in Ukraine, Gaza and border security.
The pair spoke at the conclusion of Trump’s state visit to the UK.
